Details:German Chamomile is also known as Blue Chamomile, Hungarian Chamomile or Single Chamomile. Scientifically, German Chamomile is known as Matricaria Chamomile and belongs to Asteraceae family. Oil extracted from German Chamomile has sweet, straw like fragrances. It is dark blue in color and has medium viscosity. The small herb has erect and smooth, hairless branched stem. It has delicate, feathery, narrow green leaves which are bipinnate or tripinnate. German Chamomile flowers have hollow receptacles and paniculate capitula. Flowers consist of white ray florets which have decorative ligules and its disc florets are yellow in color. Oil from German Chamomile is obtained by steam distillation.
