Details: Marjoram is angiosperms of Lamiales order and belongs to Lamiaceae family. It is inhabitant of Mediterranean and its flower is used as a symbol of happiness. Marjoram is commonly known as Knotted Marjoram. Marjoram is a tender bushy perennial plant that has dark green aromatic leaves. When these leaves start sprouting, they bear small white or pink colored fragrant flowers. Twigs, flowers and leaves are cut and dried. These dried twigs are processed under steam distillation and the essential oil of Marjoram is extracted. Marjoram oil is pale yellow to amber in color and has warm, slight spicy aroma.
