Whether you are studying for final exams or working on a difficult project for work there are several essential oils to boost your concentration and memory capabilities. Essential oils have been proven to wake up the brain and help you focus which makes them an excellent choice for students preparing for exams, professionals working on a project, or for anyone who needs a boost to help them focus or concentrate. For years, EOs have been used to improve both memory and brain function. It just makes sense that they would be beneficial for helping prepare for exams. There are plenty of mental benefits from using oils including enhancing alertness and calming the brain.
How do essential oils help with mental clarity?
Essential oils are comprised of various chemical compounds called terpenes. These are the small molecules which are absorbed into your bloodstream after they enter the nose or lungs. Once they are inhaled, the molecules are able to cross the blood-brain barrier and impact the neurological process, boost energy, relax the nervous system, and revitalize the mind. The result is calm clear, mental clarity that helps you concentrate and complete a project or study effectively.
Why use essential oils to help improve studying and concentration?
There are two studies conducted by the National Center for Biotechnology Information that concluded EOs are beneficial for improving mental capabilities and helping you concentrate. One study concluded that rosemary essential oil did improve cognitive performance. Subjects in the study were found to have improved cognitive performance after inhaling the oil.
A second study conducted by the NCBI tested if lavender essential oil would help students with work performance. Even though this oil is a favorite because of its calming effect, it was shown to help improve concentration and task performance. Subjects in this study inhaled lavender EO during a rest period. The results were improved concentration and cognition during the next session.
